What this tool checks
Anyone can open the CDX API. This checker answers the question people actually have when they look at it: is this domain worth restoring? It aggregates the raw capture list into four signals:
- HTML pages with status 200. Redirects and error codes are filtered out up front - they carry no restorable content.
- Parametric URL share (?p=, ?id=). High share is not a blocker. It changes the work: those URLs need an explicit router so links resolve after go-live.
- Year-by-year coverage. Gaps show when the site was dead or un-crawled. Dense recent years matter more than old ones.
- A/B/C verdict with reasoning. Same scale I use internally before quoting a fixed price.
Limits, stated plainly
This is a structural read, not a restoration promise. It does not verify content quality, does not confirm that specific pages survived, and does not see robots-blocked periods. Numbers come from the public CDX index, cached for 7 days. One domain per check, 5 free checks per day.
